Dependent Visa

About Dependent Visa

Now, as a business owner or an employee in the UAE, you have the opportunity to sponsor your dependents regardless of your profession, as long as you meet the minimum salary criteria and can demonstrate the relationship and dependency, along with the ability to accommodate and financially support them while living in the UAE. Any documents proving relation and dependency issued outside the UAE must undergo legalization and attestation by the UAE Consulate in your home country followed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the UAE.

Types of Dependent Visas:

  • Spouse
  • Children
  • Parent
  • Parent-in-law

Typical Time Frame:

  • 7-10 Working Days
  • Sponsor’s passport along with the residence visa and Emirates ID
  • Copies of dependents’ passports
  • Passport-sized photos of dependents
  • Marriage certificate attested (Ministry of Foreign Affairs, country attestation, with Arabic translation)
  • Certified and translated copies of the marriage certificate.
  • Certified and translated copies of birth certificates for children.
  • Non-objection certificate from the biological parent for stepchildren.
  • Legal adoption papers for adopted children.
  • Birth certificate of the sponsor for parents.
  • Additional documentation demonstrating parents’ dependency may be necessary.

The sponsor can also seek dependent visas for parents-in-law by furnishing a marriage certificate and the spouse’s birth certificate. This facilitates establishing a connection between the sponsor and the parents-in-law.

  • Male expatriates are offered either AED 4,000 or AED 3,000 along with accommodation.
  • Female expatriates, on the other hand, have the option of AED 10,000 or AED 8,000 plus accommodation.
  • The minimum monthly salary required to sponsor parents and parents-in-law is AED 20,000.

The sponsor must demonstrate that the dependent will have suitable accommodation in the UAE, including adequate rooms for the number of dependents and active utility services. Documentation required includes:

  • A tenancy contract or title deed.
  •  Minimum of one bedroom for the immediate family (spouse and children).
  • Minimum of two bedrooms for extended family members (parents or parents-in-law).
  • Recent utility bills (DEWA, SEWA, ADDC, etc.).

Additionally, family members aged 18 and above must undergo a medical fitness test at a UAE government-approved health center.
